So Who the Heck are the Folks at Solid Sound Entertainment DJ Service?
We know you have a variety of entertainment options to choose from. Since we haven't had an opportunity to meet you in person, we wanted our website to reflect a little of our personalities. We are fun people who happen to take our DJ work seriously.
When it comes to our business, we realize that we could make a whole lot of money by being the cheapest DJ company and booking tons of events. But, in order to do that we would have to compromise the quality of the service we provide. When we are buying a product or service we are looking for value, and for people who genuinely care about our needs. We decided that is what we want to give you as well.
Scott McKinney, Disc Jockey - This man knows music. No point in trying to test his knowledge. Well okay, maybe if it is a local band from Massachusetts. Seriously, he is a great DJ and does a fabulous job playing the songs your guests want to hear or dance to. Scott's dad is an electrical engineer and instilled in Scott a love of things electronic. His mother used to sing on the radio when she was a teen, when radio was often live. From his mother he grew up with a passion for music. Scott attended school at Front Range Community College, earning a degree in Electronic Technology. He attends DJ training conferences whenever possible and has also given presentations on new music and DJ technology at the local chapter meetings for the American Disc Jockey Association.
Diana Roberts McKinney, Romance Historian - Event Planner, back up DJ, Keeper of the Booking Calendar, and Wedding Angel. Diana would have been a key part of the old TV series, The A Team. She loves it when a plan comes together. One bride referred to her as a wedding angel because she was so much help. Diana was actively involved in Junior Achievement and Distributive Clubs of America as a teen and represented Colorado at national competitions for both organizations. She earned her Bachelor's in Technical Journalism from Colorado State University although she is always torn during the Border War football games because she grew up in Wyoming. Diana is a CTM designated Toastmaster and is certified in the MarBecca Method Love Story . She loves writing and sharing your Love Story with your family and guests during your wedding, usually just before the bridal dance.
Marla Blanton - Receptionist Hers is the first voice you hear in the morning. She loves to laugh. Next time you stop in, share your latest joke with her. Part of her job is to keep telemarketers at bay. We don't pay her nearly enough for this hazardous duty, but she does a great job of it. Please don't be offended if she asks who you are and what company you are with.
Sherri Weimer, Bookeeper - And the one who tells Scott, "No you don't have the money to buy that expensive do-flippy with the orbiting thing-a-ma-jig." A great relief to Diana who used to be the one with this job. Sherri watches the books and makes sure that we charge enough to stay in business but not so much we are gouging our clients.
A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away...
...a guy was staring at a girl across the room. Every time he looked at her, she was looking at him. They would each quickly look away. If it was one of those romantic movies the theme song would have been Some Enchanted Evening. They didn't speak that night. A month later she invited him to a basketball game. Four months later they married. And living happily ever after.
That was the beginning of Solid Sound Entertainment as we know it today. Scott McKinney and Diana Roberts fell head long in love. They combined Scott’s love and knowledge of music and electronics, with Diana’s desire to create organization out of chaos, to create one of Northern Colorado’s top entertainment companies.
